Methodology and editorial policy

How MEIHA gathers, checks and updates supply chain information, how companies are listed, and how to request a correction.

Sources

Where our information comes from

Every figure and claim links to a source. We rank sources by how directly they come from the people who hold the data.

  1. TIER 1

    Primary and official

Government policy documents and statistics, legislation, customs tariff schedules, stock exchange filings, standards bodies and the International Federation of Robotics.

  2. TIER 2

    Company and trade press

Company announcements, product pages and investor materials, and reporting from established business and trade media.

  3. TIER 3

    Analyst research

Published research from banks, consultancies and research institutes. We name the publisher and treat forecasts as estimates.

Verification

How we check it

  1. Source

Each fact is traced to the highest-tier source available and linked on the page.

  2. Cross-check

Figures that matter to decisions are confirmed against a second independent source where one exists.

  3. Expert review

MEIHA working groups review pages for technical accuracy before major updates.

  4. Date and revise

Pages show when their data last changed and are reviewed at least every quarter.

Directory listings

How companies appear in the directory

  • VerifiedMEIHA has checked the company's registration and stated capabilities through a reference, documents or a site visit.

Assessments

How we rate localisation potential

The rating on the component map and opportunities page is MEIHA's judgement, based on five factors. It is a starting point for discussion, not an investment recommendation.

Factor 1

Existing Malaysian capability

Do Malaysian firms already make this, or something close to it?

Factor 2

Capital and scale

How much investment and volume is needed before production is competitive?

Factor 3

Technology and IP barriers

How hard is the know-how to acquire or license?

Factor 4

Supply risk

How concentrated is current supply, and how exposed is it to trade restrictions?

Factor 5

Value to Malaysia

Would local production create skilled jobs and links to other industries?

Scale

High · Medium · Low

High make locally Medium partner Low import

Independence

Independence and conflicts of interest

Naming a company is not an endorsement. Membership, sponsorship and partnerships do not buy placement, ratings or favourable wording. Working group members declare commercial interests before reviewing pages that cover their sector.

MEIHA presents suppliers from every origin, including China, Japan, Korea, Europe and the United States, and does not favour any country.

Corrections

Corrections and updates

If you find an error, or your company is described inaccurately, send us the page, the statement and a source for the correct information. We aim to respond within ten working days.
